Belay Teams
Belay - to support a climber using a rope in such a manner that the climber will not fall.
We are asking dedicated and caring people just like you to join the fight and lead a Belay Team. Much like a belay for climbers, our Belay Teams will be the support and anchor for Climb 4 SMA. Specifically we are asking teams to raise $1,000 each by October 15, 2010. 100% of the net proceeds from our Belay Teams will go directly to Dr. Kaspar's groundbreaking gene therapy research program.
Think we are crazy to ask people to pull together and raise $1,000? Well, the simple answer to this question is yes. Yes, we are crazy. Crazy to want a CURE for this horrific disease called SMA. Crazy to dream that other families don't have to go through this heartbreak and watch their children deteriorate right before their eyes. Crazy to hope that countless little ones live long fulfilling lives and celebrate many birthdays. So when you look at it from that perspective, then yes - we are extremely crazy.
Be creative! The only "Rules" for being a Belay Team are simply this:
Even the most experienced climbers need support; they need belays. Like climbers, we too need your support. Coming together for one common goal - to raise much needed funds for SMA research. Research that could unlock a CURE for SMA.

CELEBRATING OUR BELAY TEAMS EFFORTS!!
Rottinghaus Family - You ROCK!!!
The list of those that have helped us on our journey with SMA is very long, but right at the top of that list is the Rottinghaus family. As if they haven't done enough already, they held a garage sale the weekend of September 17th to benefit Climb4SMA. They presented us with really BIG checks. Kaley and Sydeny held a Lemonade Stand and raised $90.15. A lemonade stand!!!! The Garage sale brought in an amazing $836.75. The whopping grand total? $926.90 - all for SMA research! Thank you guys, you are truly amazing!!
